Well it’s official… Our San Luis location opened this month! After servicing the Central Coast for over 10 years, we now have a permanent space that will allows us to better serve our clients and the community. The new shop is located off of S. Higuera and Prado and provides a comfortable space where ideas are born and grow. Our strength is in our experience, our knowledgable staff, creativity and flexibility. Every event is as different as the individual planning it. Our goal is to listen, offer innovative design concepts and be there every step of the way to bring our clients’ visions to life.

Freestyle Event Services provides full event services including interactive music and entertainment, event hosting, lighting production and decor, special effects, audio/visual, lounge furniture, and more for weddings, corporate, school, concert, private and social events.

Freestyle Hosts KCHCC Mixer

Freestyle Event Services recently hosted a Business Mixer with the Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce at their office and warehouse in Bakersfield, CA. Dozens attended and enjoyed the delicious refreshments, festive music, and networking opportunities with the fellow business men and women from the local community. Attendees also had the opportunity to view how Freestyle transformed their warehouse into a chic lounge complete with draping, lighting, lounge furniture, illuminated cocktail tables, red carpet, a truss structure, and a custom monogram of the KCHCC logo. Freestyle Event Services, Inc. is a proud member of the Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and looks forward to future collaborations with the organization to benefit the community.

Another Successful Winter Formal Season

It seems as if Winter Formal season just came to an end as we prepare for the beginning of another Prom season. This season was our largest ever in more ways than one. We provided event production services for thirty schools and are geared up to do the same for Prom season. Approximately 20% of those were schools who used our services for the first time. Schools have no bounds when it comes to their creativity and Freestyle Event Services is always up for the challenge. With many schools now doing combined dances in conjunction with record attendance as a result of successful activities, many schools are taking advantage of full concert sound and lighting systems. Other highlights include high end full color laser animation, custom structures, and intricate video projection displaying a variety of effects. Sick of flimsy cardboard cut-outs, many schools are now taking advantage of the many decor options that we provide. Some of the most popular picks are custom draping solutions, lounge furniture, and themed props. High School Activities continue to evolve and so does Freestyle. We look forward to the challenges ahead and to many more successful events to come.

Committed to the Fight Against Cancer

In 2011 Freestyle Event Services continues its commitment to the fight against cancer by participating in and sponsoring services to events dedicated to raising cancer awareness. Among this year’ s highlights was Kern County’s second annual “Fight for Life” event. This year all of the festivities were under one roof… a 150’ x 200’ tent. Among the attractions were a live band, DJ, aerialists, a casino, multiple lounges, and of course the exhibition fights. Freestyle Event Services provided all the sound, video, lighting, trussing, power distribution, and specialty services.

The 2011 Links for Life gala, held at Seven Oaks Country Club, was once again a huge success. Many specialty items were auctioned of with the proceeds going to support breast cancer research and awareness. Freestyle provided all of the sound and lighting needs for the event.

In May, many companies relied on Freestyle Event Services to provide services for their booths at Relay for Life. These services included structural coverings, projected images, lighting, and signage. Kern County is known for its generosity, commitment, passion, and massive participation to Relay for Life. Freestyle Event Services is honored to partner with such wonderful organizations committed to making the world a better place.

Freestyle Transforms Night Club for One-Night Event

Replay Lounge & Grill, one of the premier nightclubs in Bakersfield, CA recently hosted a celebration for Freestyle’s very own Mike Broida’s birthday bash. For this event, it was integral for both Replay Lounge and Freestyle Event Services to leave a lasting and memorable impression with all who attended. The goal was to take the nightclub’s existing architectural elements and design and introduce new elements of decor and high-end lighting to transform the space into a stunning environment never before seen at a nightclub in California’s Central Valley. A truss structure with white stretch fabric was placed on the rooftop of Replay to display an illuminated version of DJ M1KE’s logo, which greeted guests before even entering the venue. Close to 500 attendees were amazed with the LED illuminated dance floor, custom DJ booth, lighted dance platforms, and color morphing lighting effects in the 2 dance rooms. For the first time ever, the venue’s banquet room was given a VIP lighting and draping treatment from floor-to-ceiling along with a variety of chic white lounge furniture pieces. Freestyle Event Services continues to raise the bar through innovative concepts and event design.

The 2011 Prom Season!!

The 2011 Prom season was our best yet. With 24 proms between April and May, event planning, logistics, and execution had to be well orchestrated and Freestyle Event Services was up to the task. Having a reputation for putting on spectacular events, the pressure was on to exceed expectations and create a wow factor. With some of the season’s highlights being massive truss structures, concert sound and lighting, live acrobats and aerialists, large-scale video projection, and a fully programmable 18’ x 18’ LED dance floor, to name few, Freestyle achieved the goal. We look forward to our continued partnership with various schools and many more spectacular events to come!

Freestyle Event Services Welcomes Liz Netherton

Freestyle Event Services, Inc. welcomes Liz Netherton to it’s growing team as its regional account representative for California’s Central coast. Liz will be overseeing operations and sales in a territory spanning Paso Robles to Santa Maria.

Upon graduating from the University of Arizona, Liz returned to her native California in pursuit of the event industry. She’s since produced several grand openings, galas, weddings, corporate and community events. Most recently, Liz served as the Director of Sales and Events for the Padre Hotel in Bakersfield, CA. Her passion for the industry, creativity, and desire to build relationships fits perfectly with Freestyle’s innovative approach to custom event design. Freestyle Event Services feels fortunate to have Liz as part of its team as they continue their commitment to excellence, customer satisfaction and industry leadership.

Freestyle Event Services welcomes Mike Broida to its growing team as an account representative and a DJ/MC.

Known to many as DJ M1KE, Mike Broida is a local favorite with 10 years of experience in the entertainment industry; having provided services for weddings, schools, nightclubs, and corporate events. Mike also served as an intern for the once popular Bakersfield radio station PLAY 103.9, where he had a weekly Mix Show.

Most recently, Mike worked as a sales associate for Bakersfield Magazine. Prior to his work with the magazine, Mike earned his bachelors degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing.

Mike brings unique credentials to Freestyle, having been a part of the local entertainment industry as well as a background in marketing. Freestyle Event Services is excited to put those credentials to work as they continue their commitment to excellence, superb performance quality and customer satisfaction.

Luigi’s Celebrates 100 Years of Community Excellence

Luigi’s Italian Restaurant has long been a beloved Bakersfield landmark synonymous with fine cuisine. It was no surprise then, that the celebration of its 100 year anniversary drew thousands from the community. Among those attending was California congressman Kevin McCarthy who expressed his appreciation for Lugi’s example of entrepreneurship and contributions to the community.

Freestyle Event Services was asked to provide sound, trussing, power distribution, and logistics covering three city blocks within a timeframe of 24 hours. Although not an easy task, Freestyle worked around the clock to ensure that Lugi’s 100 year anniversary was executed flawlessly. Of the event, owner Jared Perry said, “it was an honor to be a part of such an important community event. We look forward to many more years of Luigi’s presence and their good food!”

Padre Hotel Grand Opening

After much anticipation, the Padre Hotel officially opened its doors to the public in February of 2010. As Bakersfield’s only luxurious boutique hotel, the Padre has gained much popularity and has become a highly sought after venue for events and fine living. Originally opening it’s doors in 1928, the hotel is considered a Bakersfield landmark.

Because of its its rapid popularity and careful planning, The Padre Hotel’s official grand opening didn’t come until September of 2010. The Hotel’s management partnered with Freestyle Event Services in an effort to create an attraction that would not only draw attention and highlight the Hotel’s new facade, but one that would give significance to its historical nature.

For grand opening, guests were treated to a red carpet entrance, delicious foods, a variety of entertainment, and V.I.P treatment from start to finish. The hotel foyer was brilliantly lit, enhancing the building’s unique architecture. Lighting designer, Mark Perry, said of the event, “Freestyle Event Services was proud to be a part of an event celebrating the rebirth of a historical venue like the Padre and we look forward to many more events to come as the Padre Hotel has now planted its feet firmly in the community.
