The 2011 Links for Life gala, held at Seven Oaks Country Club, was once again a huge success. Many specialty items were auctioned of with the proceeds going to support breast cancer research and awareness. Freestyle provided all of the sound and lighting needs for the event.

In May, many companies relied on Freestyle Event Services to provide services for their booths at Relay for Life. These services included structural coverings, projected images, lighting, and signage. Kern County is known for its generosity, commitment, passion, and massive participation to Relay for Life. Freestyle Event Services is honored to partner with such wonderful organizations committed to making the world a better place.

Upon graduating from the University of Arizona, Liz returned to her native California in pursuit of the event industry. She’s since produced several grand openings, galas, weddings, corporate and community events. Most recently, Liz served as the Director of Sales and Events for the Padre Hotel in Bakersfield, CA. Her passion for the industry, creativity, and desire to build relationships fits perfectly with Freestyle’s innovative approach to custom event design. Freestyle Event Services feels fortunate to have Liz as part of its team as they continue their commitment to excellence, customer satisfaction and industry leadership.

Known to many as DJ M1KE, Mike Broida is a local favorite with 10 years of experience in the entertainment industry; having provided services for weddings, schools, nightclubs, and corporate events. Mike also served as an intern for the once popular Bakersfield radio station PLAY 103.9, where he had a weekly Mix Show.

Most recently, Mike worked as a sales associate for Bakersfield Magazine. Prior to his work with the magazine, Mike earned his bachelors degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing.

Mike brings unique credentials to Freestyle, having been a part of the local entertainment industry as well as a background in marketing. Freestyle Event Services is excited to put those credentials to work as they continue their commitment to excellence, superb performance quality and customer satisfaction.

Freestyle Event Services was asked to provide sound, trussing, power distribution, and logistics covering three city blocks within a timeframe of 24 hours. Although not an easy task, Freestyle worked around the clock to ensure that Lugi’s 100 year anniversary was executed flawlessly. Of the event, owner Jared Perry said, “it was an honor to be a part of such an important community event. We look forward to many more years of Luigi’s presence and their good food!”

Because of its its rapid popularity and careful planning, The Padre Hotel’s official grand opening didn’t come until September of 2010. The Hotel’s management partnered with Freestyle Event Services in an effort to create an attraction that would not only draw attention and highlight the Hotel’s new facade, but one that would give significance to its historical nature.

For grand opening, guests were treated to a red carpet entrance, delicious foods, a variety of entertainment, and V.I.P treatment from start to finish. The hotel foyer was brilliantly lit, enhancing the building’s unique architecture. Lighting designer, Mark Perry, said of the event, “Freestyle Event Services was proud to be a part of an event celebrating the rebirth of a historical venue like the Padre and we look forward to many more events to come as the Padre Hotel has now planted its feet firmly in the community.
